As it turns out, Blueboard is unable to accommodate requests for cruises. We always aim to ensure a seamless and serviceable experience for our recipients and most, if not all, cruise lines have made this extremely difficult to accomplish for third parties such as ourself. For the following reasons, we have opted to decline requests for cruises:
-
Cruise lines have made it difficult for third parties such as Blueboard to handle planning, booking, and payment — all crucial aspects of the Blueboard process and a required policy for all Blueboard experiences.
-
Tickets and accommodations for cruises have steadily been increasing. As a result, cruise packages typically exceed the associated value of Blueboard Rewards, resulting in a large out of pocket cost for recipients, like yourself, to cover. Furthermore, Blueboard does have a strict overages policy that out of pocket cost can not exceed more than 50% of the associated reward value.
-
Cruise lines typically implement strict cancellation and reschedule policies. Not only are they unforgiving and/or flexible, cruise lines do not allow third parties such as Blueboard to handle the cancellation or reschedule should the need arise. Ultimately, this has lead to a lengthy and unsuccessful process that result in costly losses.
